The Regal Wool Lowkey Cardigan Chunky Version is a simultaneous top-down cardigan that begins at the upper back. The back neck shaping and shoulders are worked separately, then stitches are picked up along the shoulder line to continue knitting the sleeves together with the body.

By starting the back piece from the bottom up to shape the back neck, this pattern allows you to create a rounded back neck that is difficult to achieve with a typical top-down construction. Since stitches are picked up from the cast-on edge of the back piece, the horizontal lines created at the back become a unique design feature.

Because the sleeves are worked simultaneously without the need to pick up sleeve stitches separately, the number of picking-up steps is minimized. Additionally, only one yarn break is needed when constructing the shoulder section, making the process simpler and more convenient.
